The Philadelphia 76ers have reached an agreement to sign French guard Rayan Rupert to a two-way NBA contract, according to sources via ESPN. Rupert joins the organization after a rookie campaign where he saw action with both the Memphis Grizzlies and the Portland Trail Blazers.
A second-round selection in the 2023 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-6 guard has been noted for his defensive versatility and length. Before entering the NBA, Rupert played for the New Zealand Breakers in the NBL as part of the "Next Stars" program. His addition to the 76ers roster provides the team with additional depth in the backcourt and a young prospect to develop within their system.
Under the current NBA collective bargaining agreement, players on two-way contracts are eligible to be active for up to 50 regular-season games with their parent club. Rupert is expected to spend significant time with the Delaware Blue Coats, Philadelphia's G League affiliate, to continue his professional development.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
