The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder to swap first-round positions in the upcoming NBA Draft, per Shams Charania.
Under the terms of the deal, the Grizzlies will move back one spot from the No. 16 overall selection to the No. 17 pick. In exchange for moving down in the order, Memphis will receive two future second-round draft picks from the Thunder. Oklahoma City will now move up to the No. 16 slot to make their selection.
This transaction allows the Grizzlies front office to accumulate additional draft capital while remaining in the middle of the first round. For the Thunder, the move secures a slightly higher position in the draft order as the team continues to manage its significant cache of picks. Specific details regarding the years of the second-round picks have not yet been disclosed.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
