Free agent guard Jevon Carter has agreed to a deal with the Orlando Magic for the remainder of the season, according to agents Mark Bartelstein and Reggie Brown of Priority Sports via ESPN.
Carter, a veteran defensive specialist, provides immediate backcourt depth for an Orlando Magic team looking to solidify its rotation for the final stretch of the year. The 28-year-old guard most recently played for the Chicago Bulls, where he showcased his perimeter efficiency by shooting 41% from three-point range. Known for his high-pressure on-ball defense, Carter is expected to bolster Orlando's second unit.
Throughout his career, Carter has established himself as a reliable 3-and-D option, having spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Memphis Grizzlies. His addition comes at a critical time as the Magic look to secure their positioning in the Eastern Conference standings. Carter brings significant postseason experience to a relatively young roster, having appeared in 52 career playoff games.
Further details regarding the contract and Carter's expected debut date have not yet been released by the team.
