The NBA has fined Charlotte Hornets star guard LaMelo Ball a total of $60,000 following a series of incidents during and after a recent matchup against the Miami Heat, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
The league's disciplinary action stems from two distinct violations. Ball was fined $35,000 for tripping Heat center Bam Adebayo, an act that the NBA has now officially upgraded to a Flagrant foul upon review. Additionally, the league handed down a $25,000 fine to Ball for using inappropriate language during his postgame interview sessions.
While the total fine amount reaches $60,000, the NBA has opted not to issue a suspension to the Hornets' playmaker. Ball remains eligible for Charlotte's upcoming games. The upgrade to a Flagrant foul will be added to Ball's season total, which can lead to automatic disciplinary action if a player exceeds the league's established limit for flagrant points during the season.
