Free agent center Mason Plumlee is signing a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs, according to Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports via ESPN.
The veteran big man, currently in his 13th NBA season, began the 2025-26 campaign with the Charlotte Hornets before becoming available for the stretch run. Plumlee, now 35 years old, brings a wealth of experience to a young San Antonio roster. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his high-IQ playmaking from the center position and his consistency as a reliable rebounder and interior defender.
The Spurs have been seeking frontcourt reinforcements as they navigate the second half of the season while looking to improve their standing in the Western Conference. With recent rotation shifts and a need for veteran leadership in the paint, the addition of Plumlee offers head coach Gregg Popovich a seasoned professional to help stabilize the bench unit. Plumlee has appeared in over 700 career games, having previously spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and LA Clippers.
