Free agent center Nikola Vucevic has agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract to return to the Orlando Magic, according to sources via ESPN.
Vucevic returns to the franchise where he spent the majority of his professional career, having played nearly nine seasons in Orlando after joining the team as a sophomore. The veteran center has reportedly maintained a home in the Orlando area since his departure and now rejoins the organization on a short-term deal to bolster their frontcourt rotation.
During his previous stint with the Magic, Vucevic established himself as a cornerstone of the franchise, earning two All-Star selections and leading the team to multiple postseason appearances. He was eventually traded to the Chicago Bulls in 2021, but this agreement marks a significant homecoming for a player who remains a fan favorite in Central Florida. The veteran presence of Vucevic is expected to provide valuable leadership for a young Orlando roster.
