The Phoenix Suns are signing forward/center CJ Huntley to a two-way contract, according to a report from Shams Charania of ESPN. Huntley earns the call-up from the Valley Suns, the organization's G League affiliate.
The move fills the open two-way roster spot created after the Suns recently signed guard Jamaree Bouyea to a standard NBA deal. Huntley has been a standout performer for the Valley Suns, providing the organization with additional size and versatility in the frontcourt as they move through the second half of the season.
Under the terms of a two-way contract, Huntley will be permitted to spend time with both the NBA roster and the G League affiliate. He will be eligible to be active for up to 50 regular-season games for Phoenix. However, per NBA rules, two-way players are not eligible for the NBA postseason unless their contract is converted to a standard roster spot before the playoffs begin.
The addition of Huntley provides the Suns with much-needed depth at the power forward and center positions as the team manages its rotation for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
