The Oklahoma City Thunder are finalizing a trade to send guard Aaron Wiggins to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for two future second-round picks, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
As part of the agreement, the Thunder will receive Atlanta’s 2030 second-round pick and the least favorable of the Hawks' or Los Angeles Lakers' 2032 second-round picks. The move allows Oklahoma City to continue accumulating draft assets while clearing a spot in a crowded rotation.
Aaron Wiggins, 25, has been a highly efficient contributor for the Thunder since being selected in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft. Last season, Wiggins averaged 6.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting a remarkable 49.2% from beyond the arc. His versatility on both ends of the floor made him a key piece of the Thunder's bench during their run to the top seed in the Western Conference.
By acquiring Wiggins, the Atlanta Hawks add a proven wing defender and elite floor spacer to their backcourt. Wiggins has appeared in 198 career games over three seasons, providing the Hawks with a reliable rotational player as they look to reshape their roster this offseason.
