Free agent guard Tyus Jones has agreed to sign with the Denver Nuggets, his agent Kevin Bradbury of LIFT Sports Management told ESPN. The veteran point guard joins the Nuggets to provide a reliable ball-handling presence in the backcourt as the team looks to strengthen its rotation for the upcoming season.
Jones spent the 2023-24 season with the Washington Wizards, where he averaged 12.0 points and 7.3 assists per game. He is widely recognized for his exceptional assist-to-turnover ratio, a trait that has made him one of the most coveted backup point guards in the league for several years. His veteran leadership and ability to orchestrate the offense will be vital for a Denver second unit that has sought more consistency.
Before his stint in Washington, Jones played key roles for the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves. By landing in Denver, he joins a championship-caliber core led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. The Nuggets have prioritized backcourt depth this offseason, and Jones represents a significant upgrade to their bench depth as they look to return to the NBA Finals.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
