The Golden State Warriors are signing former Miami Heat and Utah Jazz center Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract, according to agents Keith Glass and Luke Glass via ESPN. The move provides the Warriors with additional frontcourt size as the regular season progresses.
Yurtseven spent the start of the current season playing in the Euroleague before returning to the United States to join the G League last week. He made an immediate impression during his G League appearance on Friday night, dominated the floor with 36 points and 12 rebounds. This performance reportedly accelerated his return to the NBA ranks.
Prior to his stint overseas, the 7-foot center appeared in 113 NBA games across three seasons. Yurtseven holds career averages of 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He is best known for a productive stretch with the Miami Heat during the 2021-22 season, where he proved to be a capable rebounder and interior presence. The Warriors will now evaluate his fit within their system over the duration of the short-term deal.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
