The San Francisco 49ers are signing veteran offensive guard Robert Jones, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The transaction follows a formal visit to the team's facility on Monday and was teased earlier Tuesday by Ian Rapoport as an "intriguing addition" for the 49ers interior line.

Robert Jones, 27, joins the 49ers after spending the 2025 season on injured reserve with the Dallas Cowboys due to a neck injury sustained during training camp. The 6-foot-4, 322-pound lineman is reportedly fully healthy and cleared to return to action. Before his tenure in Dallas, Jones appeared in 49 games with 30 starts for the Miami Dolphins between 2021 and 2024, primarily playing at left guard.

An undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee in 2021, Jones has logged over 2,000 offensive snaps at the professional level. He is expected to provide immediate veteran depth and competition for the San Francisco offensive front as the team prepares for the 2026 season.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
