The Seattle Seahawks are bolstering their defensive front with the addition of veteran edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr., according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The two sides have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $5 million. Fowler, a former No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, joins the Seahawks after spending the 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys. During his tenure in Dallas last year, he appeared in all 17 games, recording 15 tackles and three sacks as a key part of the defensive rotation.
The move brings a wealth of experience to the Seattle locker room. Fowler has recorded 58.5 career sacks across 11 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders, and Cowboys. Notably, the signing reunites Fowler with Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde, who coached him in both Atlanta and Dallas.
By signing Fowler at this stage of the offseason, the Seahawks add a proven pass rusher to their rotation without impacting their compensatory pick standing for the 2027 draft. Fowler is expected to compete for significant snaps in a Seattle defense looking to maintain its edge in the NFC West.
