The San Francisco 49ers have signed running backs Jordan Mims and Jermar Jefferson, according to a report from @AdamSchefter. In a corresponding roster move, the organization has waived running back Sincere McCormick.

Jordan Mims joins the 49ers after previously spending time with the Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints. An undrafted free agent out of Fresno State in 2023, Mims recorded over 1,300 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns during his final collegiate season. He has spent time on various NFL practice squads since entering the league.

Jermar Jefferson was a seventh-round selection by the Detroit Lions in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon State. During his time in Detroit, Jefferson appeared in seven regular-season games, recording 74 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He spent the majority of the 2022 and 2023 seasons on the Lions' practice squad and now joins the San Francisco backfield depth chart.

The player waived in the transaction, Sincere McCormick, originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of UTSA. McCormick spent his rookie year on injured reserve and was a member of the team's practice squad during the 2023 campaign. The 49ers continue to adjust their roster during the current phase of the NFL offseason.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
