The Cleveland Browns are signing former Buffalo Bills defensive end A.J. Epenesa to a one-year contract, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The deal is reportedly worth up to $5 million, bringing a proven pass-rushing presence to the Cleveland defense. Epenesa, a former second-round pick out of Iowa, hits free agency after spending his first four NFL seasons in Buffalo. During his time with the Bills, he established himself as a disruptive force on the edge and a reliable rotational player.
Last season, Epenesa recorded 6.5 sacks, 20 tackles, and two interceptions in 15 games. His ability to create turnovers and pressure the quarterback makes him a significant addition to a Browns unit already led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. Over the last two seasons combined, Epenesa has tallied 13 total sacks.
The Browns continue to prioritize defensive line depth as they look to build on their postseason appearance from a year ago. Epenesa is expected to compete for significant snaps in the defensive end rotation immediately.
