Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has publicly advocated for offensive coordinator Matt Nagy to receive another opportunity as an NFL head coach, according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

Speaking on the matter today, Reid expressed strong support for his long-time assistant, highlighting Nagy's qualifications for a leadership role. Nagy currently serves as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, a position he returned to after a four-season stint as the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021. During his tenure in Chicago, Nagy posted a 34-31 regular-season record and led the franchise to two playoff appearances.

Nagy first joined Reid during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles before moving with him to Kansas City in 2013. He rose through the coaching ranks from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator in 2016. After his time in Chicago, he rejoined the Chiefs staff in 2022 as a senior assistant and quarterbacks coach before being promoted back to offensive coordinator following the departure of Eric Bieniemy. Reid’s vocal support often carries significant weight in league circles given his extensive track record of developing successful head coaching candidates from his coaching tree.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
