The Chicago Bears have selected Tory Taylor from the University of Iowa with the 122nd overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Taylor is the first punter to be taken off the board in this year's draft. The Australian-born specialist gained national attention at Iowa for his record-breaking leg strength and precision. In 2023, Taylor won the Ray Guy Award as the nation's best collegiate punter and set a new NCAA single-season record with 4,479 punting yards.
The selection marks a significant investment in special teams for the Chicago Bears, who utilized one of their few remaining draft assets to secure the highly-touted prospect. Taylor joins a Chicago rookie class that features first-round selections Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze.
