NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has confirmed that legendary head coach Bill Belichick and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will not be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026. Despite their unprecedented run of success in Foxborough, both candidates will remain outside of Canton for at least another year.
According to @AdamSchefter, Goodell spoke highly of their respective legacies while delivering the news. "Bill Belichick’s record goes without saying, same with the Patriots and Robert Kraft, who is also a candidate," Goodell stated. "They are spectacular. They have contributed so much to this game, and I believe they will be Hall of Famers."
Bill Belichick, who led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl championships, is widely considered one of the greatest coaches in NFL history. Robert Kraft has overseen the franchise during its most successful era, becoming a perennial finalist for the contributor category. While their eventual induction seems certain, the 2026 class will proceed without the New England icons.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
