The Cincinnati Bengals have reached an agreement with former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Ja’Sir Taylor on a one-year contract, per @AdamSchefter of ESPN.
Taylor, 25, joins the Bengals after spending the first two seasons of his professional career in Los Angeles. Originally selected by the Chargers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Wake Forest, the defensive back has appeared in 31 career games with seven starts. During his tenure with the Chargers, Taylor recorded 55 total tackles, one interception, and six passes defended while also contributing significantly on special teams units.
In his final collegiate season at Wake Forest, Taylor was an All-ACC honorable mention, showcasing the versatility that the Bengals hope to utilize in their defensive rotation. The move adds depth to a Cincinnati secondary that has seen several changes this offseason. Taylor was a free agent prior to the signing and will now compete for a role in the Bengals' defensive backfield during training camp.
