The recognition was announced during the 33rd annual Gridiron Gala held at the New York Hilton Midtown on Tuesday evening. The award celebrates Burns for his exceptional community service and leadership efforts throughout the New York metropolitan area. Since joining the Giants via trade from the Carolina Panthers in 2024, the three-time Pro Bowler has become a cornerstone of the franchise's philanthropic initiatives and a vocal leader in the locker room.
Burns is coming off a dominant 2025 campaign where he recorded a career-high 16.5 sacks. With the recent departure of veteran Dexter Lawrence, Burns has fully embraced his role as a team captain. Several teammates and Giants officials were in attendance at the gala to support the 28-year-old defender as he accepted the honor.
