The Denver Broncos and star cornerback Pat Surtain II have agreed to a contract adjustment that provides the All-Pro defender with a significant immediate raise, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Per @RapSheet, the revised agreement gives Surtain a $5 million raise for the current season. The adjustment also includes performance-based incentives, allowing the cornerback to earn an additional $5 million next year should he receive a Pro Bowl or All-Pro nod. The deal was finalized by agent Tory Dandy of Athletes First.
This financial restructuring occurs during the very first year of Surtain's landmark four-year, $96 million contract extension, which previously set a record for the position. By moving quickly to adjust the terms, the Broncos continue to reward one of the premier defensive talents in the NFL as he remains a cornerstone of the franchise's secondary. Surtain has established himself as one of the league's elite shutdown corners since being drafted in the first round in 2021.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
