The Denver Broncos are re-signing wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey to a new contract, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The veteran pass-catcher returns to Denver to provide depth and continuity to a receiving corps that has seen several changes this offseason.
Humphrey, who has spent significant time playing under head coach Sean Payton both in Denver and with the New Orleans Saints, appeared in all 17 games for the Broncos during the 2023 season. He finished the year with 13 catches for 162 yards and three touchdowns, often serving as a key blocking specialist in the run game and a reliable target in specific offensive packages.
A former standout at the University of Texas, Humphrey entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019. After three seasons in New Orleans, he spent a year with the New England Patriots before reuniting with Payton in Denver last year. His familiarity with the offensive scheme makes him a valuable asset for the Broncos as they look to stabilize their offense heading into the 2024 campaign.
The move ensures that one of Payton's most trusted depth players remains on the roster. Terms of the deal were not immediately made available.
