The Cleveland Browns have reached an agreement to acquire offensive tackle Tytus Howard from the Houston Texans, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Texans will receive a fifth-round draft pick in the deal, while Howard is expected to sign a three-year, $63 million contract extension with Cleveland, per Rapoport. The veteran tackle, 29, was originally a first-round selection by Houston in 2019 and has been a cornerstone of their offensive line for the past seven seasons.

The transaction follows a series of major moves across the league on Monday morning, including the Kansas City Chiefs releasing tackle Jawaan Taylor to clear $20 million in cap space. Additionally, the Texans were active in the trade market themselves, reportedly acquiring running back David Montgomery from the Detroit Lions in exchange for a package including a fourth-round pick and offensive lineman Juice Scruggs.

Per league rules, the trade for Howard cannot be officially finalized until the new league year begins on March 11 at 4 p.m. ET.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
