The Cleveland Browns have reached an agreement to acquire veteran offensive tackle Tytus Howard from the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round draft pick, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

As part of the trade, Howard is signing a three-year, $63 million contract extension with Cleveland. The deal includes $45 million in new money and secures a key piece for a Browns offensive line that is expected to undergo significant changes this offseason under first-year head coach Todd Monken.

Howard, 29, has spent his entire seven-season career in Houston after being selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. A versatile blocker with experience at both tackle and guard, Howard did not allow a single sack in 609 pass-blocking reps during the 2025 season. For the Texans, the move clears approximately $4 million in salary cap space as the franchise prepares for future extensions for young stars like Will Anderson Jr. and C.J. Stroud.

While the teams have agreed to terms, the trade cannot be officially finalized until the new league year begins on March 11 at 4 p.m. ET.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
