New York Jets rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik remains undeterred following his fall to the fourth round of the NFL Draft, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Despite once being projected as a high-round talent, the former Clemson standout expressed unwavering confidence as he began his professional career at rookie minicamp.
Klubnik, who was selected with the 110th overall pick after the New York Jets traded up to secure him, addressed the slide by focusing on his competitive history. "In my mind, I’m a winner," Klubnik told reporters on Saturday. "I think that’s the mentality you have to have as a quarterback, and I think that my résumé has kind of showed that as well."
The signal-caller's draft stock reportedly took a hit following an injury-plagued 2025 season at Clemson, where he fought through ankle and wrist ailments. However, Klubnik indicated that those challenges only helped him learn to face adversity. He now joins a Jets quarterback room led by veteran Geno Smith, where he is expected to serve as a developmental backup while adjusting to the pro game.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
