The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to trade All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in a blockbuster deal, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
In exchange for the star defender, Brett Veach and the Chiefs will receive a package of four draft picks. The return includes a 2026 first-round pick (No. 29 overall), a 2026 fifth-rounder, a 2026 sixth-rounder, and a 2027 third-round selection, per @RapSheet. The move comes as McDuffie was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract under a fifth-year option.
McDuffie has been a cornerstone of the Kansas City secondary since being selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. During his tenure, he earned First-Team All-Pro honors and played a pivotal role in the team's recent championship runs. The Rams are reportedly expected to sign McDuffie to a long-term contract extension following the completion of the trade.
The move leaves the Chiefs with significant draft capital, including two first-round selections in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes reacted to the news on social media shortly after the deal was reported.
