The Washington Commanders are bolstering their secondary, agreeing to terms with veteran cornerback Amik Robertson on a two-year contract, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The deal is worth a total of $16 million and includes $9.3 million in guaranteed money, per sources. The agreement was finalized by agents Marlon Moore and TR of AthElite Agency. Robertson joins a Commanders defense that has been active in the market as they look to improve a unit that is undergoing significant changes this offseason.
Robertson spent the first four seasons of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he developed into a reliable contributor in the defensive backfield. Known for his ball-hawking skills and physical style of play, he recorded two interceptions and one forced fumble during the 2023 season. His ability to play both on the perimeter and in the slot provides the Washington coaching staff with much-needed versatility.
This move marks another strategic investment in the defense by the Commanders front office. Robertson is expected to compete for a significant role immediately as the team looks to shore up a pass defense that ranked near the bottom of the league last year.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
