Veteran edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. is signing a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The deal is reportedly worth up to $5 million, providing the Seahawks with a proven pass-rushing veteran for the 2024 season. Fowler, a former No. 3 overall pick, joins Seattle after spending the last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, where he served as a productive rotational defender.
During the 2023 season, Fowler appeared in 17 games for Dallas, recording four sacks and one forced fumble. Over his career, which includes stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, and Atlanta Falcons, Fowler has accumulated 45 career sacks and 10 forced fumbles.
The move bolsters a Seattle defensive front that is undergoing transitions under new head coach Mike Macdonald. Fowler’s experience and ability to generate pressure off the edge offer the Seahawks a low-risk, high-upside addition to their defensive rotation as they look to compete in the NFC West.
