The Miami Dolphins are bolstering their backfield depth by signing former Oregon State running back Anthony Hankerson, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Hankerson joins the Dolphins following a standout 2024 season with the Beavers, where he emerged as a primary offensive weapon. During his lone season at Oregon State, the running back recorded 890 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 198 carries. Before his time in Corvallis, Hankerson spent two seasons at the University of Colorado, appearing in 21 games for the Buffaloes under head coach Deion Sanders.
The addition of Hankerson provides head coach Mike McDaniel with another physical runner to integrate into the Miami rushing attack. Known for his vision and ability to finish runs, Hankerson will look to carve out a role in a competitive Dolphins room that already features significant speed. The move comes as teams continue to round out their rosters with young talent following the conclusion of the NFL Draft cycle.
