The Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement with veteran kicker Zane Gonzalez on a one-year contract, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Per @RapSheet, the move provides the Dolphins with a new starter at the position following the release of long-time kicker Jason Sanders earlier this month. Gonzalez, 30, joins Miami after a productive 2025 stint with the Atlanta Falcons, where he successfully converted 19 of 22 field goal attempts and 17 of 18 extra points in nine games of action.
A former seventh-round selection out of Arizona State, Gonzalez brings significant experience to the Dolphins' special teams unit. Over his career, he has spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, and Carolina Panthers, appearing in 72 total games. He has a career field goal percentage of 80.5% and a career-long of 57 yards.
The signing aims to stabilize a position that was in flux throughout the 2025 season while Sanders was sidelined with an injury. Further financial details regarding the agreement have not yet been made public.
