The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots have reportedly reached an agreement in principle on a blockbuster trade involving star wide receiver A.J. Brown, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal is expected to be officially processed on or after June 1 to allow Philadelphia to manage the significant salary cap implications of Brown's contract. In return, the Eagles will reportedly receive a package of future draft capital in the 2027 and 2028 classes. The move reunites Brown with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, who previously coached the star wideout during their tenure with the Tennessee Titans.

Philadelphia’s decision to move on from Brown follows a series of aggressive moves at the wide receiver position this offseason. The Eagles solidified their post-Brown plans during the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft by trading up to select USC standout Makai Lemon with the No. 20 overall pick. Lemon, the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner, joins a revamped receiving corps that also includes offseason additions Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Dontayvion Wicks.

Brown, 28, has been a cornerstone of the Eagles' offense since being acquired in 2022, posting four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. He now joins a Patriots offense led by quarterback Drake Maye, providing the young signal-caller with a premier No. 1 target as New England looks to build on its recent Super Bowl appearance.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
