Brown, a third-round pick out of Illinois in the 2023 NFL Draft, joins a Falcons secondary in need of versatile depth. During his rookie campaign with the Eagles, Brown appeared in 14 games and recorded 45 total tackles. He was perhaps best known in Philadelphia for his explosive 99-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17.
The trade comes as Brown continues his recovery from a torn ACL suffered during the 2023 regular-season finale. While the safety showed significant promise as a hard-hitting playmaker during his debut season, the Eagles have opted to move the young defender to Atlanta as they reshuffle their defensive backfield under new leadership.
