The New York Giants have reached an agreement to sign former Miami Dolphins safety Elijah Campbell to a one-year contract. The deal was confirmed by his agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Shawn O’Dare, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Elijah Campbell, 28, joins the Giants after spending the previous three seasons in Miami. Originally an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa, Campbell has carved out a consistent role in the NFL primarily through his contributions on special teams and as a reliable depth piece in the secondary. During the 2023 season, he appeared in 15 games for the Dolphins, tallying 15 total tackles and one fumble recovery.
Before his tenure with the Dolphins, Campbell had stints with the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets, as well as time in the AAF with the Birmingham Iron. His arrival in New York provides the Giants with a versatile defender who can bolster their special teams unit and provide veteran experience to the defensive backfield. The Giants have been looking to add depth to their safety room following several roster shifts this offseason.
Campbell has appeared in 44 career NFL games, recording 36 tackles and two passes defended. The specific financial terms of the one-year agreement were not immediately disclosed by the team or his representation.
