According to Adam Schefter, this transaction represents the first time since 2005 that a player has been traded without any additional compensation for a haul that included a Top-10 selection. The last time the league saw a deal of this specific nature was when the Minnesota Vikings traded legendary wide receiver Randy Moss to the Oakland Raiders for a return that featured the No. 7 overall pick.
The move sends Dexter Lawrence, a cornerstone of the Giants' defensive front and a multi-time Pro Bowler, to Las Vegas as the Raiders look to anchor their defense with elite veteran talent.
