Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin is signing a one-year deal with the New York Giants, per @AdamSchefter. The contract is worth up to $4.5 million, according to Austin's agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln.
Austin joins the Giants after spending his first two professional seasons in Pittsburgh. A former fourth-round selection out of Memphis, Austin missed his entire rookie campaign in 2022 due to a foot injury. He returned in 2023 to play in all 17 games for the Steelers, recording 17 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown, while also contributing significantly as a punt returner.
The addition of Austin provides the Giants with elite speed and a viable option in the return game. As the team continues to build out its offensive depth, Austin’s ability to stretch the field vertically offers a new dimension to the New York passing attack and special teams units.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
