The New York Giants have selected Notre Dame wide receiver Malachi Fields with the No. 74 overall pick in the NFL Draft, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
To secure the selection, the Giants orchestrated a trade with the Cleveland Browns. New York sent pick Nos. 105 and 145, along with a 2027 fourth-round selection, to Cleveland in exchange for the 74th overall pick used to draft Fields.
The move provides a new perimeter weapon for quarterback Jaxson Dart, whom the Giants drafted earlier in the event. Fields, a standout at Notre Dame, is known for his size and reliability, and he is expected to bolster a Giants receiving corps looking for more consistency. By moving up in the third round, the Giants front office signaled a clear priority to surround their new young quarterback with immediate offensive talent.
Fields becomes the latest addition to a rebuilt Giants offense as the team continues to address key positions through aggressive draft-day maneuvering.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
