The Philadelphia Eagles have received an $889,000 salary-cap credit and a cash repayment from cornerback Jaire Alexander, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The financial settlement comes after the veteran defensive back never appeared in a game for the franchise.

Alexander was acquired by Philadelphia from the Baltimore Ravens last November in a trade-deadline deal that saw the Eagles part with a 2026 sixth-round selection. However, just nine days after the trade, Alexander opted to step away from football to focus on his physical and mental health. He was subsequently placed on the reserve/retired list by the team.

Per Schefter, the $889,000 total includes $500,000 from the Ravens and $389,000 from Alexander directly. The funds cover a portion of the signing bonus and salary paid during his brief stint. The Eagles also received a salary cap credit for the full amount, despite it not initially counting against their cap at the time of the trade.

A two-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler, Alexander spent seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers before joining Baltimore on a one-year deal in 2025. His 2025 season was hampered by recovery from knee surgery, and he appeared in only two games for the Ravens before being traded to Philadelphia.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
