Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested Wednesday and faces eight felony counts, including kidnapping and armed robbery, according to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. The charges carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison if convicted.
Authorities, including the Tampa Police Department, allege that Arnold was the "primary conspirator" in an incident that occurred in February. Investigators believe the 23-year-old defensive back coordinated a plot to lure three individuals to an apartment where they were held at gunpoint and assaulted. The incident was reportedly in retaliation for a theft at a property Arnold had been renting. Six other suspects were previously charged in connection with the case.
In a statement, Arnold’s representation at EAG Sports Management categorically denied the allegations and maintained his innocence. The Detroit Lions organization confirmed they are aware of the legal situation but declined further comment out of respect for the ongoing process. Arnold voluntarily surrendered to authorities at the Orient Road Jail on Wednesday evening and is currently being held without bond.
