The Detroit Lions have executed a trade to move up in the second round of the NFL Draft, acquiring the No. 44 overall selection from the New York Jets, per @AdamSchefter of ESPN.
To facilitate the move up the board, the Lions are sending two picks to New York: the No. 50 overall selection in the second round and the No. 128 overall selection in the fourth round. By moving up six spots, Detroit puts itself in a position to select a specific prospect early in the second round.
For the New York Jets, the trade provides additional value later in the draft. They slide back six spots in the second round while picking up an extra fourth-round asset at No. 128 overall. Both teams have now adjusted their draft capital as the second round of the NFL Draft continues.
