Ohio State safety Lorenzo Styles Jr. electrified the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine on Friday, recording a blistering unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.28 seconds.
The mark, reported by Tom Pelissero, immediately established Styles Jr. as one of the premier speedsters in the 2026 draft class. The performance comes just one day after his brother, Buckeyes linebacker Sonny Styles, posted an impressive 4.46-second run on the same turf at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Styles brothers have become a major talking point in Indianapolis, showcasing rare athleticism on back-to-back days of testing.
Styles Jr., a former wide receiver who successfully transitioned to the defensive secondary, showcased the elite closing speed that scouts have highly anticipated throughout the pre-draft process. His 4.28u time is currently the fastest recorded among the defensive back group during this year's event.
Official times for the defensive back and tight end groups are expected to be verified and released by the NFL later this evening. Scouts from all 32 teams were on hand to witness the standout performance at Lucas Oil Stadium.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
