Fernandez spent his entire professional career in Miami, playing eight seasons from 1968 to 1975. Throughout his tenure with the Dolphins, Fernandez appeared in 103 regular-season games. He was a two-time Super Bowl champion and was inducted into the Miami Dolphins Honor Roll in 2014.
