The blockbuster trade that would have sent Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens has been officially called off due to a medical reason, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The transaction was voided after Crosby underwent a physical examination with the Ravens medical staff today.
According to Garafolo, the deal fell through because Crosby did not pass the required medical evaluation. The five-time Pro Bowler had recently undergone surgery in January to repair a meniscus injury suffered during the 2025 season. Per league rules, all NFL trades are contingent upon the player passing a physical with the acquiring team.
As a result of the failed physical, the Ravens will retain the draft capital they had agreed to trade—reportedly including first-round picks in 2026 and 2027—while Crosby returns to the Raiders roster. This marks a major turn of events for both franchises, as the deal would have been the first time in Ravens history that the team traded a first-round pick for a veteran player.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
