Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett is expected to be absent when the team kicks off its voluntary offseason program tomorrow, according to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Speaking on "The Insiders," Rapoport noted that Garrett historically does not participate in the voluntary portion of the NFL offseason schedule. This year appears to be no different, as the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year is likely to continue his trend of training independently before joining the team for mandatory sessions later in the spring.

The Cleveland Browns are scheduled to begin their Phase One workouts on Tuesday, which consist primarily of strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation. While these sessions are entirely voluntary under the league's Collective Bargaining Agreement, the attendance of franchise cornerstones is a frequent topic of discussion as teams begin their formal preparations for the 2024 season.

Garrett remains the focal point of the Browns defense and his routine of working out away from the facility has been consistent throughout his tenure in Cleveland. Per NFL Network, there is no indication that his absence is related to any contract disputes or injury concerns, but rather a continuation of his established offseason program.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
