The NFL officially announced the awarding of 33 compensatory picks for the 2026 NFL Draft on Monday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. A total of 15 teams received additional selections to offset the net loss of free agents from the previous offseason.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens tied for the league lead, each receiving the maximum of four compensatory picks. The Minnesota Vikings were awarded the highest selection in the compensatory pool, receiving the 97th overall pick at the end of the third round. This pick was reportedly triggered by the departure of quarterback Sam Darnold during the 2025 free agency period.

Other notable allocations include the Las Vegas Raiders receiving a fourth and fifth-round selection, while the Dallas Cowboys added two picks in the fifth round (Nos. 177 and 180). The Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Rams were among the teams receiving multiple seventh-round picks to round out the 2026 draft order.

Compensatory picks are determined by a proprietary formula that considers a player's salary, playing time, and postseason honors. These picks have been eligible to be traded since 2017. The 2026 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
