The data, derived from the league's recently released schedule, shows a massive disparity in travel requirements, with the Los Angeles Chargers slated to travel more than triple the distance of the team with the lightest schedule.
The Chargers lead the league with 36,708 total air miles. They are followed by the Miami Dolphins, who will travel 31,286 miles, and the Seattle Seahawks at 31,124 miles. The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers also rank among the top five most-traveled teams this year based on these calculations.
Conversely, the Washington Commanders face the lightest travel burden in the NFL, covering only 10,550 air miles. The Cincinnati Bengals follow closely with 10,611 miles, while the Indianapolis Colts (11,497), Pittsburgh Steelers (12,047), and Atlanta Falcons (12,416) round out the five teams with the fewest miles to travel.
