The NFLPA executive committee has officially narrowed its search for a permanent executive director to a select group of finalists, according to reporting from Kalyn Kahler and Dan Graziano.
Among the finalists for the high-profile leadership position are David White, who is currently serving as the union's interim executive director, and JC Tretter, the former NFL center who previously served as the union’s president and chief strategy officer. The search for a permanent successor follows the conclusion of DeMaurice Smith’s long-standing tenure at the helm of the organization.
David White has been leading the NFLPA in an interim capacity to maintain operational stability during the transition period. JC Tretter is a prominent figure in union politics, having served as president during the critical COVID-19 pandemic seasons before transitioning into a strategy role. The executive committee is expected to move forward with final interviews to determine who will lead the players' union through future collective bargaining and labor negotiations.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
