Kuhr impressed the organization while calling plays this past season in the absence of Terrell Williams, who was battling cancer. Following his performance under those circumstances, the Patriots have decided to make the arrangement permanent. Williams is now healthy and will remain with the team, moving into a high-ranking staff role within the organization.
The promotion provides continuity for the Patriots defense, which saw Kuhr rise to the occasion during a difficult period for the coaching staff. By retaining both Kuhr and Williams in prominent roles, New England bolsters its defensive leadership heading into the new league year.
