Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods will not participate in on-field workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine today, according to @AdamSchefter. The standout interior lineman has decided to delay his physical testing and position drills until later in the pre-draft process.
While Woods is currently in Indianapolis for the combine, he will instead perform a full workout during Clemson’s official Pro Day, which is scheduled for March 12. This decision allows the highly-touted defensive tackle additional time to prepare for his measurements and athletic testing in a familiar environment alongside his collegiate teammates.
The move is a common practice for top-tier prospects who prefer to showcase their athletic abilities at their own university's facilities rather than the combine setting. Woods remains one of the most anticipated defensive line prospects in this year's draft cycle following a disruptive tenure with the Tigers’ defense. NFL scouts and front-office executives will now shift their focus to the March 12 date to get a full athletic profile on the interior defender.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
