The Las Vegas Raiders are signing veteran kicker Matt Gay, according to his agents David Canter and Ness Mugrabi of Aura Sports Group per Tom Pelissero of The Insiders.
Gay, a former Pro Bowl selection, joins the Raiders after most recently serving as the placekicker for the Indianapolis Colts. The veteran specialist brings a wealth of experience to the Las Vegas special teams unit, including a Super Bowl championship during his tenure with the Los Angeles Rams. Over his career, Gay has also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who originally drafted him in 2019.
Known for his leg strength and consistency from long range, Gay has maintained a career field goal percentage north of 85%. The move signals a shift for the Raiders as they look to solidify their kicking game with a proven veteran presence. Contract details and the corresponding roster move have not yet been officially announced by the team.
