The Las Vegas Raiders have officially signed safety Tristin McCollum to his exclusive rights free agent tender, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
McCollum, a 25-year-old defensive back out of Sam Houston State, will return to the Raiders for the upcoming season after appearing in six games for the franchise in 2023. As an exclusive rights free agent (ERFA), McCollum was offered a one-year contract at the league minimum. Under NFL rules, because the Raiders extended the tender, McCollum was unable to negotiate with other teams and must play for Las Vegas or sit out the season.
During his 2023 campaign with the Las Vegas Raiders, Tristin McCollum saw significant action on special teams while providing necessary depth for the secondary. He finished the season with six total tackles after being elevated from the practice squad and eventually signed to the active roster. McCollum originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2022 before finding a home in Las Vegas.
The move ensures the Raiders retain a young developmental piece in their secondary as they head into the offseason program. McCollum is the twin brother of Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Zyon McCollum.
