The Los Angeles Rams have acquired All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie in a blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Following the trade, the Rams signed McDuffie to a massive four-year, $124 million contract extension. The deal makes McDuffie the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, surpassing all previous benchmarks for the position. The contract ensures the 25-year-old star will remain with his hometown team through the 2030 season.
To land the two-time Super Bowl champion, Los Angeles sent a significant package of draft picks to Kansas City, per @RapSheet. The deal includes the 29th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, a fifth-rounder, and a sixth-rounder in this year's draft, as well as a 2027 third-round selection.
The move marks a major homecoming for McDuffie, who is a native of the Los Angeles area and attended St. John Bosco High School. Over the past three seasons, McDuffie has been one of the NFL's premier defensive backs, trailing only Sauce Gardner for the highest Pro Football Focus coverage grade at his position.
